Biographical Information

I hold a MSc. in Language Science and Technology from Saarland University

I also worked since 2011 till 2015 as a research assistant in LOEWE Digital Humanities Project in Goethe University Frankfurt.

Presently, I am a PhD Student in ACoLi Lab, Institute for Informatics of Goethe University and a research assistant in UKP Lab in TU Darmstadt

Research Interests

As a UKP researcher my work focuses on crowdsourcing of linguistic annotations and creation of datasets for information retrieval tasks. Among others, I develop annotation interfaces for Amazon Mechanical Turk as well as guidelines and annotation schemes, supervise the annotation process, conduct automatic quality control of the crowdsourced data and do the evaluation.

Outside of the UKP, my research interest lies in automatic processing of low resource languages, in particular, automatic morpho(syntactic) annotation of historical Germanic. My research addresses such problems as text normalisation, character-based machine translation, part-of-speech speech tagging and syntactic parsing of low resource Germanic and annotation projections. I am also interested in linguistic linked open data and exploit RDF resources (e.g. OLiA) in my work on some of the aforementioned NLP problems.
