Best Participating System in SemEval-2012 STS Task

The UKP system performed best in the Semantic Textual Similarity (STS) task at SemEval-2012 in two out of three metrics.

The UKP system participated in the pilot Opens external link in new windowSemantic Textual Similarity (STS) task at the workshop series on Opens external link in new windowSemantic Evaluation (SemEval-2012), which will be associated with the new Opens external link in new window*SEM, First Joint Conference on Lexical and Computational Semantics, and co-located with Opens external link in new windowNAACL, Montreal, Canada. The system uses a simple log-linear regression model, trained on the training data, to combine multiple text similarity measures of varying complexity. Our system performed best in two out of three metrics.
