UKP does release software as a service to the academic community. Below is a list of our current software packages.
Open Source Software
DKPro Core
DKPro Core provides a set of ready to use software components for natural language processing, based on the Apache UIMA framework.
DKPro Lab
DKPro Lab is a lightweight framework for parameter sweeping experiments. It allows to set up experiments consisting of multiple interdependent tasks in a declarative manner with minimal overhead.
DKPro Spelling
DKPro Spelling includes components for real-word spelling error correction and experimental frameworks for mining such errors from the Wikipedia revision history as well as for the "Helping Our Own" shared tasks 2011 and 2012.
DKPro Text Classification
DKPro TC (Text Classification) is a UIMA-based text classification framework built on top of DKPro Core, DKPro Lab and the Weka Machine Learning Toolkit. It is intended to alleviate supervised machine learning experiments with any kind of textual data.
JWPL - Java-based Wikipedia API
Wikipedia is a valuable lexical semantic resource. However, if it should be used for large-scale NLP tasks, efficient programmatic access to the knowledge therein is required. JWPL (Java Wikipedia Library) is a free, Java-based application programming interface that allows to access all information contained in Wikipedia.
TWSI Sense Substituter
This folder contains software to produce lexical substitutions in context for over 1000 frequent nouns. The software processes English text.
This functionality is realized by a supervised word sense disambiguation system, which is trained by sense-labeled occurrences of target words. A classification model is trained for each word, and used to decide which sense an unseen occurrence most likely belongs to. Associated with senses are lists of substitutions, which are injected into the text using inline annotation.
UBY-API - Java API to UBY
UBY is a large-scale lexical-semantic resource for natural language processing (NLP) based on the ISO standard Lexical Markup Framework (LMF).
The UBY-API is a free, Java-based application programming interface that allows to access all information contained in UBY.
WebAnno
We present WebAnno, a general purpose web-based annotation tool for a wide range of linguistic annotations. WebAnno offers annotation project management, freely configurable tagsets and the management of users in different roles.
