Educational Web 2.0
Our Vision
In the EduWeb project, we seek to implement our vision of technology enhanced
education of the 21st century. A vast amount of content is produced by many
people every day, but despite their interconnection through the World Wide Web,
their efforts are often isolated from each other.
Our aim is to...
- use Natural Language Processing (NLP) for analyzing collaboratively constructed documents on the web to use it for educational purposes;
- build tools that assist creators of educational content in coordinating their efforts and in sharing their materials with the community;
- explore new algorithms in NLP which bear great potential to simplify tedious, recurring task, like the creation of questions, exercises and tests
Current work
We are working on...
- leveraging semantic knowledge from Web 2.0 resources, i.e. Wikipedia and Wiktionary, which have already shown great potential of providing high quality background knowledge in ENLP applications;
- developing new approaches in Question Generation to enrich test authoring tools;
- creating new algorithms for the discovery and classification of educational documents in heterogeneous web-based resources;
- building easily accessible, teacher-centered tools for collaboratively creating educational materials;
