Work Information

My current research focus is on the large-scale integration of various lexical resources. I work in the project EduWeb.

Besides, I am associated with the following projects:

"Integrating Collaborative and Linguistic Resources for Word Sense Disambiguation and Semantic Role Labeling", funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG)

"Digital Humanities - Text as a Process", funded by the Hessian excellence program "Landesoffensive zur Entwicklug wissenschaftlich-ökonomischer Exzellenz" (LOEWE)

  • Since January 2011: postdoctoral researcher at UKP-Lab funded by a postdoctoral scholarship from the Volkswagen Foundation

  • 2007 - 2010 work as a writer: co-author of textbook  Eine Einführung in die Statistik und ihre Anwendungen (Judith Eckle-Kohler, Michael Kohler), Springer.
  •  
  • 2005 - 2007 member of "Arbeitsgruppe Statistik", Saarland University;  research on statistical methods for language technology. 
  •  
  • 1996 - 1999 researcher at IMS, Stuttgart University.
  •  
  • 1999 Ph.D. in Computational Linguistics, Stuttgart University; thesis: Semi-automatic acquisition of a German broad-coverage subcategorization lexicon from newspaper texts.

  • 1998 research studies at the Center for the Study of Language and Information (Stanford University, USA), funded by a DAAD-scholarship. Involved in the LinGO English Resource Grammar (ERG) (research on sentential argument alternations of German verbs).

Personal Interests

 My personal interests include spending time with my husband and two children, playing piano, running, yoga. I maintain a colourful personal website
