• I am Head of the Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing (UKP) Lab and am leading the institutional collaboration between the Technische Universität Darmstadt and the Leibniz-Institute DIPF in Frankfurt.
• Since 2012, UKP has two branches: UKP-TUDA at the Department of Computer Science at the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TUDA), and UKP-DIPF, Leibniz-Institute for Educational Research and Educational Information (DIPF), Frankfurt am Main.
• I am Co-Director of the new Master Program "Internet and Web-based Systems" at the Technische Universität Darmstadt.
• The web site of the UKP Lab represents a wide range of things I pursue in research, teaching and scientific community. Thereby, I collaborate with many researchers inside and outside of the UKP Lab.  
• My narrow research interests are in Natural Language Processing, with the focus on computational lexical semantics, semantic information management and discourse and dialogue processing at UKP-TUDA. 
• At UKP-DIPF, I am committed to research on innovative applications of computer science (with a strong focus on Natural Language Processing), to the problems in educational research and for managing knowledge about education.
